An informal three acre garden in Enfield
The original garden in this semi-rural site in Enfield, Middlesex was small, overgrown with an awkward triangular shape. Our clients had just purchased an additional three acres, including a meadow and woodland. The brief was to incorporate a new stretch of land which ran alongside and beyond the existing garden. It was important that the two areas came together seamlessly, to create one garden. The design was to be informal in style and had to include a fruit and vegetable garden. The clients also requested colour throughout the year. Late flowering perennials extended the flowering season, whilst grasses and coloured winter stems continued the interest through to the following spring. A breeze house, accessed via a board-walk is ideally placed for alfresco dining.
