Meadow garden in hadley wood, herts
This garden, also in Hadley Wood, Herts, is in direct contrast with the adjacent, formal garden, accessed through a brick archway. Mown paths meander through wilder areas seeded with meadow grasses, flowers and spring bulbs. After just one season, this area of the garden was teaming with butterflies and other beneficial insects. Groups of large box balls sit in animated groups, creating structural interest throughout the year. Fruit trees were planted in the meadow grass. We created a living willow wig-wam and tunnel for the children to play in. A kitchen garden is planned for next year
